Your guide to a smooth bike handover...

Firstly, we want to thank you for purchasing your bike through the Vindis Group and hope that you have had an enjoyable experience so far. It should now be getting close to your handover and we hope that you are as excited about collecting your bike, as we are to hand it over to you!

As you know, there are several things that have to be covered prior to taking delivery and we wanted to share these with you to ensure your handover runs as smoothly as possible.

Bike Insurance

We appreciate that you may have been surfing the internet trying to find the best insurance quote for your bike and acknowledge that this can sometimes take some time. Please ensure that you have a valid insurance certificate with you on the day to present to us – we won’t allow you to take your new bike away until you have done so.

Bike Taxing

If you have just purchased a brand new bike then we will of course ensure this bike is taxed prior to you taking delivery. If you have purchased a Used bike then you have the responsibility of ensuring the bike is taxed prior to it being driven on a public highway. This process can be easily completed online and can be done in advance or we are happy to help you complete this during your handover.

Part exchanging a bike?

If you have chosen to part with your existing bike through us then we request you bring all the necessary documents relating to that bike i.e. V5 Logbook, MOT Certificate (if applicable), the handbook, service history and all of the bike’s keys.

It is also important to advise that whilst we will have given you a price for your bike, this may be subject to change depending on the condition/mileage when it is handed over to us. However in absolute transparency with you, we will carry out another full appraisal of the bike on the day of handover and will keep you fully aware of if there are any changes in the bike valuation, as well as the reasons why.

Funding your New/Used bike

To ensure the handover process runs efficiently, we require that all bike funds are cleared prior to collection and we have several options in place for you to ensure this:

Ducati TriOptions Finance provide bespoke finance solutions which can be arranged through us at Vindis Ducati. You should have received full details of this prior to purchasing the bike, however, we can of course run through these again should you wish.

Debit or credit card balance payments are accepted using Chip & Pin, however you (the customer) must be present during this transaction. Just to cover you (and us) we also require for proof of ID (a driving licence/passport to match the payment card). We unfortunately do not accept payments over the telephone. If payment is made using a credit card, no credit card fee is charged however there is a £5,000 limit per transaction.

Bank transfers need to be carried out 2 days prior to collection to ensure the funds show as cleared in our bank account. When transferring money, please make sure you use your surname as a payment reference. Our bank details are: Vindis Ducati - Sort code: 40-33-33 - Account number: 12452227

If you choose to pay using cash, due to money laundering legislation, we only take a maximum of £500 in any one transaction so if your new bike costs more than this, the balance would need to be transferred via one of the other methods above.

We hope all of this information helps, but if you think of any questions that we haven't covered, then please give us a call.

Once again, thank you for your custom and we look forward to welcoming you back in the showroom on handover!
